There are volumes of research surrounding yoga in schools and we highly recommend spending time with the Yoga in Schools Research Repository compiled by Yoga 4 Classrooms and Child Light Yoga founder, Lisa Flynn and  Bethany Butzer, PhD.

At Newark Yoga Movement, we have seen disciplinary actions reduce to practically zero and suspensions become non-existent ( Source: Sussex Avenue Renew School  500 Pre-K - 8th grade students).  Further,  children love yoga.  After just  one 20 minute yoga session, 73% wanted to do it again.  Another benefit is that after 20 minutes 64% of students felt less stressed, more calm and peaceful.  (Source:  2009 NYM Pilot Study among 300 Newark students)
