6th Annual Brick City Solstice
Join us for the 6th Annual Brick City Solstice on Saturday, June 20, 2020 to celebrate Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. This free virtual event is an opportunity for the community to come together to renew the mind and body through yoga, meditation, dance and more as we transition into summer. Brick City Solstice event will kick off at 9:30am on Instagram Live with our KEYNOTE Speaker, Jersey’s own Miki Barber who is not only a Newark Yoga Movement Board Advisor, but an Olympic Champion!!
This virtual event will be hosted on Zoom. This event is free but donations are highly encouraged to support Color of Change and the Youth Development Clinic. Newark Yoga Movement will match donations up to $1,000. Donations can be made through Eventbrite during registration.

Color of Change is the nation's largest online racial justice organization that designs campaigns powerful enough to end practices that unfairly hold Black people back, and champion solutions that move us all forward.
The Youth Development Clinic, a nonprofit organization, providing services to children in schools and community-based settings, as well as in our outpatient clinic in downtown Newark, New Jersey.

Sun Salutations
Sun Salutations is a series of postures linking breath with movement to warm up, strengthen, and align the body.
Laughter Yoga
Laughter yoga is an exercise involving prolonged voluntary laughter. This type of yoga is based on the belief that voluntary laughter provides similar physiological and psychological benefits as spontaneous laughter.
Yin Yoga
This passive style of yoga consists of static postures held for a minimum of 3 minutes to stretch the connective tissue and increase mobility and flexibility.
