All believe in the power of yoga and how it can help make positive transformations both personally and academically with children and all who can positively impact children. Many of them have been with us since our 2009 formation.

Debby Kaminsky

Founder, Board President + CEO

Debby is an advocate for education and passionate about yoga. A former senior marketing and advertising executive, she has been involved with yoga since 1997. For her, it's a privilege to share NYM with all and inspire others to create their own yoga movements. Now in its 16th year, she humbly expresses awe and gratitude as NYM has shared self-regulating wellness tools and yoga with 50,000 children and thousands of educators and community members.

Lisa Sorensen

Executive Director

Lisa Sorensen is a yoga teacher (RYT-200), health & wellness educator, and Executive Director of Newark Yoga Movement. She is passionate about making yoga accessible and teaches in a secular, inclusive way. Lisa holds a B.S. in Marketing with a minor in Psychology from Rutgers University–Newark, with certifications in yoga, anatomy, osteoporosis, and mental health. Her breath-centered approach helps students build calm, resilience, and balance.
